Our Awards & Achievements

Tauri Foundation envisions a child-friendly, right-based and inclusive society that is free of abuse, exploitation and discrimination for all children irrespective to religion, ethnicity, socio-economic status, gender and disability.

Our Awards

  • Tauri Foundation received an award to uphold Autism issues in Bangladesh in 2019 selected by Ministry of social Welfare and handed over by the Honb’l prime Minster on the occasion of International and National Autism Awareness Day.
  • Ms. Marufa Hossain, Director, School for Gifted Children (SGC) & Tauri Foundation (TF) received an award to uphold Autism issues in Bangladesh in 2017, selected by Ministry of social Welfare and handed over by the Honb’l Prime Minster on the occasion of International and National Autism Awareness Day.
  • Farhan Tanisha Ananto a student of SGC received an award as successful person with Autism in 2018, selected by Ministry of social Welfare and handed over by the Honb’l prime Minster on the occasion of International and National Autism Awareness Day.
  • Durranta a student of SGC received an award as successful person with Autism in 2019, selected by Ministry of social Welfare and handed over by the Honb’l prime Minster on the occasion of International and National Autism Awareness Day.
  • Afia Kabir Anila an ex-students of SGC and young volunteer of Tauri Foundation received an award as successful person with Disability in 2019, selected by Ministry of social Welfare and handed over by the Honb’l prime Minster on the occasion of International and National Disability Day.
  • Afia Kabir Anila an ex-students of SGC and young volunteer of Tauri Foundation received DCI’s Young Leadership award 2017 in Connecticut, USA.

Our Achievements

  • Successfully sent significant numbers of students of SGC into mainstream schools. Few of them have passed Primary School Certificate (PSC) examination.
  • Almost every year paintings of the students of SGC printed in the festival cards of the Honb’l Prime Minister.
  • Significant numbers of SGC student’s being awarded by BERGER Paints Bangladesh paintings and competitions.
  • Students of SGC performs in National and International Autism Awareness Day, National Disability Days programs. Also they participates in different days observance programs of different TV channels.
  • Tauri Foundation jointly with AIMS Lab, United International University with the financial support of ICT Division developed an app to enhance communication of nonverbal children with Autism and other NDDS.
  • Published “Autism Ki Ebong Koronio 1 & 2” 1st. book written on Autism in Bengali in Bangladesh by Ms. Marufa Hossain, Director, SGC and Tauri Foundation.
  • Tauri Foundation organized a 2 days’ workshop and parent’s consultation program on Autism in 2019 jointly with Autism Partnership, Singapore. Where 3 Nos. Board Certified Behaviour Analysts act as resource person. Significant numbers of parents and professional from different corners of Bangladesh have attended the program.
  • To support significant number of persons with disabilities giving assistive devices till 2008.
  • Purchased land in Dhaka and Rajshahi to have own complex.
  • Actively participating in Dishabille Persons Rights and Protection Act 2013 national executive committee and NDD Trust Act 2013 as member of Trusty board.
  • Successfully started operation of online classes for both SGC Dhaka and Rajshahi.
  • Launched YouTube channel “SGC Tauri Foundation” to create mass awareness about issues related to Autism and other Neuro-developmental disabilities among Bengali population globally.
  • Members of School for Gifted Children worked closely with the film maker of Putro, a national award winning film on Autism. SGC is proud to be a part of the film which created mass awareness about Autism.
